A disturbing case happened in Jaipur. A young girl was raped by someone she knew from Instagram. The accused tricked her by acting like a friend. He went to her home saying he had good news to share. But he actually gave her laced sweets that made her pass out. He then took advantage of her unconscious state. He raped her and also filmed inappropriate videos of her.
Alleged Assault by Instagram Friend
The victim, a 20-year-old resident of Sanganer Sadar, disclosed that she encountered the accused, identified as Vishnu, on Instagram. As their acquaintance developed, Vishnu purportedly proposed marriage, citing the necessity of familial consent before proceeding further.
Deceptive Encounter and Traumatic Aftermath
According to the victim’s statement to the police, in December 2023, Vishnu contacted her with purportedly joyous news – the approval of their union by his family. Under this pretense, he visited her residence and offered her sweets allegedly spiked with intoxicants. Succumbing to the effects, she fell unconscious, enabling Vishnu to carry out his reprehensible act of rape and record illicit videos.
Upon regaining consciousness, the victim voiced her objection, only to be coerced into silence by Vishnu’s assurance of impending marriage. However, instead of fulfilling his promise, Vishnu began exploiting and blackmailing her, leveraging the obscene footage he had recorded. When the victim insisted on marriage, Vishnu vehemently refused, resorting to threats of disseminating the compromising videos online.
Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation
Feeling betrayed and deceived, the victim bravely approached the authorities, lodging a formal complaint at the Sanganer Sadar police station. The case now rests under the diligent investigation of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Chaksu) Surendra Singh, as the law enforcement officials strive to ensure justice prevails.
