In a harrowing incident in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, a man was mortally beaten following a domestic dispute over a wedding gift. The deceased, identified as Chandra Prakash Mishra, allegedly faced fatal attacks from his in-laws after planning to present a gift to his sister at her upcoming wedding.
The conflict arose when Chandra Prakash expressed his intentions to gift an LED TV and a gold ring to his sister for her wedding scheduled on April 26. This decision sparked an intense disagreement with his wife, Kshama Mishra, who reportedly opposed the gesture. The altercation escalated when Kshama informed her brothers of the situation.
According to police reports, the accused brothers arrived at Chandra Prakash’s residence in Sahari Majre Jharsawa village, where the argument intensified. The situation turned violent when the brothers chased and assaulted Chandra Prakash with sticks, inflicting severe injuries.
Despite immediate efforts by family members to transport him to a hospital, Chandra Prakash succumbed to his injuries en route. Following the incident, police from the Baddupur station intervened, detaining the body for post-mortem examinations and initiating a formal investigation.
Dr. Binu Singh, the Police Area Officer of Fatehpur, confirmed the arrest of five individuals in connection with the case. The suspects face charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police are currently conducting further inquiries to ascertain all facts surrounding this tragic event.
